Winter 2025 Cooking Classes
Saturday, February 8th from 10 am to 1 pm, for ages 10+
Classic Desserts We'll focus on two spectacular classic desserts, Pavlovas and Cream Puffs. Baked Meringues and freshly whipped cream, combined with fresh berries and homemade Raspberry Coulis will result in mini Pavlovas. We'll also learn the technique of making choux pastry and filling them with crème pâtissière (pastry cream) to create traditional mini Cream Puffs drizzled with Chocolate Ganache. Monday, February 10th from 4:30-6:30 pm, for ages 5-8
Lil' Sprouts Cooking Class What's the only thing to do after reading The Runaway Tortilla? Make our own fresh corn and flour tortillas, of course! Your child will learn how to make authentic masa and flour dough, press out their tortilla and turn it into the most delicious cheesy quesadilla served with homemade guacamole. Grating, juicing, pressing, flipping, mixing, measuring - it's going to be busy in the kitchen! This is a NUT FREE class. $45 per child. Instructor: Susan Carpenter. |
Saturday, February 22nd from 10 am to 1 pm, for ages 8+
Cinnamon Delights I needed an excuse to finally feature Cinnamon Rolls in a baking class and here it is! Apart from deliciously sticky Homemade Cinnamon Rolls with a Vanilla Glaze, we'll also prepare Apricot-Cinnamon Scones and Caramelized Brown Sugar Cinnamon Pineapple served with a side of Vanilla Ice Cream. Tea Time Treats High Teas are a mix of sweet and savory. In this class, you'll prepare Blueberry Buttermilk Scones, fresh Lemon Curd, Cucumber Finger Sandwiches and an assortment of Chocolate Covered Fruit, both fresh and dried. Let Tea Time begin! Sunday, March 23rd from 2-5 pm, for ages 10+
Intro to Sushi Chef Noor has led this class several times now and it's always the first to sell out. So, we're adding a 2nd one to the winter schedule. Kids will prepare Sushi Rice, learn the technique of rolling Sushi in a variety of ways and will also learn how to create Onigiri, Japanese rice balls.
